Jennifer is a person who made a HUGE difference in my life. Here’s to old friendships renewed!
Giving Thanks
We had a great Thanksgiving… we spent it with family and friends, in person and on the phone - it was awesome to connect with everybody. Here’s Trav carving the turkey with Gampy’s electric knife. I’m glad Aunt Susie (also in the picture) asked us to bring it - I love using that knife! It’s older than I am (by a few months) and it still works perfectly.
I’ve spent the last day thinking about what I’m grateful for, so in addition to my gratitude journal, here are some things for which I’m thankful:
- Trav - My best friend. I know he’s a regular mention in my journal, and he’s so very important to me and I love him so much, he’s always at the top of any “thanks” list!
- My family - My family is always there when I need them, and I hope they know I’m here for them, too.
- My friends - I may not be the most attentive friend, but I’m trying hard to be better about that part. I do treasure my relationships with them.
- Work - I’m very, very fortunate to have a bunch of clients for bosses, rather than just one boss at a regular job. Trav & I started our business in 1994 and have never looked back.
- Our state - Florida is a beautiful place to live and I’m looking forward to discovering all there is to know about it.
- Our country - I’m extemely lucky to live in a country that affords great opportunity for the pursuit of happiness amd I intend to take every advantage!
What are YOU grateful for?
Got a new animal in the Florida field guide book
Today I was driving down Softwind Lane, and I saw what looked to be a giant squirrel tail poking up over the edge of the ditch along the side of the road. As I passed, the animal stood up and I’m like, “That’s one HUGE squirrel!” So I had to turn around and go have a better look. As I came around the car, he loped to the tree line but stopped right outside of it to stand up and inspect me as I looked at him. When I tried to move a little closer, he scurried up into an oak tree and peered down at me for a few seconds, then went running away up the tree. He looked kind of like a big ferret, with a tail as long as his body. I looked in the book when I got home and found out it’s a long-tailed weasel. I was pretty excited about seeing him - I’m glad I turned around.
Anybody out there have interesting wildlife sightings to report?
